SOUTHERLY BUSTER |
|
acrylic on wood, 91 x 122 cm. |
At the end of any hot Sydney summer afternoon, there is a good chance that a brief and violent storm will blow in from the south coast. Sydneysiders call it the "Southerly Buster" and while it sometimes causes damage to property, it cools the air and the earth for the evening.
In these works I have painted directly on to old wooden shutters and tried to get the feeling of the way light changes on summer's day. |
