Suburban Dreaming

When I lived in the inner city, my work reflected the grit and the noise but now I have returned to the Northern Beaches, the sun permeates the landscape. Many artists think middle class subjects are unworthy. Bonnard and Matisse didn't agree and nor do I.

Perhaps the drawings on the left portray my world more realistically than the paintings on the right which seem to be heading ever closer to abstraction.
